Erin M. Walton Named President of TitleTown Publishing Group

Erin Walton, Director of Client Relations for TitleTown Publishing Group (TPG), has been named the first female President in the company’s fifteen year history. “On behalf of our owner and publisher, Tracy Ertl, I’m excited to announce that we’ve named Erin Walton President of TitleTown Publishing Group,” remarked Chief Executive Officer Travis Vanden Heuvel. “We recognize that our greatest resources are our human resources, and we couldn’t be more excited about the addition of Erin to our Executive Leadership Team.”

TitleTown Publishing Group is a book and magazine publishing company founded in Green Bay, WI, with offices in Los Angeles and New York. A nationally-recognized brand well-positioned to attract world-class talent and content, TPG competes with firms like Simon & Schuster, Penguin Random House, Hachette Book Group, and HarperCollins. With the publishing industry continuing to change dramatically and at an ever-quickening pace, it’s more important now than ever before to have corporate leadership that can navigate the new terrain. “Erin has played a vital role in our organization’s growth strategy since she started with us nearly two years ago,” said Vanden Heuvel, “and she’s the perfect person to help us execute against our strategic plan moving forward in her new role as President.”

Employing and empowering women has always been a priority for TitleTown Publishing Group. "As the company's founder and owner, I'm tremendously proud that we've named Erin President," said Tracy Ertl, who served as the company's first CEO and President prior to hiring Vanden Heuvel. "When I brought Travis in to be President and Chief Operations Officer in early 2017, and later when I named him CEO in 2018, I made my expectations clear: He was charged with increasing sales by 300% in his first three years, and he was to make sure that women continue to be hired and promoted within the company. He's done both, and I'm very proud of how far we've come."

Reporting to Vanden Heuvel, and with direction and mentoring from Ertl, Walton will oversee a number of operations-related functions; including contract negotiations with authors and suppliers, client engagement and outreach, media production, and domestic distribution of content. “When Tracy and Travis made me aware of their decision to name me the next President of TitleTown Publishing Group, I was humbled, excited, and more than a little afraid!” Walton recalls. “But having worked closely with them over the last 18 months, and knowing their vision for the future, I soon realized that they wouldn’t entrust me with this tremendous responsibility if they didn’t think I was fully capable of doing the job.”

As President, Walton joins Ertl, Vanden Heuvel, Bradley Ertl, Esq. (Corporation Counsel), and Nora Jende (Associate Publisher) on TPG’s Executive Leadership Team. Walton will also serve as an ex-officio member of TPG’s Editorial Advisory Board.

Walton is a relatable problem-solver and mediator able to find common ground even in the most challenging circumstances. With experience as a manager in the retail industry, small business owner, and teacher/educator, Walton brings a great amount of experience to her new role at TPG. Walton attended Edgewood College in Madison, WI where she earned a B.A. in Early Childhood and Exceptional Education with an emphasis in Spanish. While raising her daughters, Walton balanced helping her husband run his business, volunteering at a home for memory care patients, and actively participating in her church’s activities before returning to teaching at a Classical Christian School.

“I come alive when I engage as a partner alongside someone who may need a boost of encouragement to cross the finish line and see their goals become reality. My passion to cheer, guide, and share insight positions me well to help others achieve their goals and run their unique races. With this heart, I believe I will be able to help authors tell their own stories, in an authentic way, and bring them to life in the publishing world.”

Walton lives in Fort Worth, Texas with her husband, Christian, and their three daughters, Lauryn, Marina, and Josie.
